This talk builds on The October 20th 2007 Libre Services[2] presentation by providing an overview of Societal and Engineering Design Drivers for By* Family of Libre Services.
I start with a brief live walkthrough of The By* Family[3] of Libre Services. Then focus on why I think as first generation Internet engineers we have a responsibility to guard societal freedoms during the transition from Free Software to Libre Service.
In the specific case of The By* Family of Libre Services a high level design perspective is provided from societal and engineering perspectives.
